guys, kalau you know enough about the process of birth, and that fear creates tension, and tension creates pain (therefore avoid having fear..) the pain will be bearable.. inshaa Allaah. percaya lah ;)

Edited to add, I wouldn't even call it pain.. it's just discomfort..!
I MISS birthing day! Gila ha ha

Re: BW sightings

November 22, 2009 by raylis

Lixa, it is a MT, as MTs are from China :) and as in the movie (it's about the Peranakan clan) the character is a Nyonya, i.e. Chinese with some local traditions mixed together..

jess, was wondering how she tied all the straps in the front. hmmm.

just wanted to share, start watching from 0:47! it is a mei tai, just that i'm not sure how she ties it.

ray... if no episiotomy... tear naturally, then no need for stitches ek..?
yep so susah to plonk down with stitches...

-ellywirda

depends, if small tear no need, will heal on its own.
some, like mine, needed a few stitches, but 2nd day already i was sitting cross-legged on the bed!!
it was.. uh, heaven ha ha.
i had a terribly big cut for my 1st :( and healing took ages.. bleargh.
most of the time, episiotomies aren't exactly needed, especially if mom is allowed to labor actively!

Shida has popped! ;)

November 12, 2009 by raylis

Yes, she has! :)

Gave birth to a little boy, Asri Irfan about 10+pm November 12th 2009, 3.22kg.

Waters broke at home, and by the time she got to the hospital (was screaming in the car!) all she needed to do was push baby out! So ideal, haha ;)

Mom and baby are doing fine, alhamdulillaah.

May Allaah make Asri Irfan the coolness of his parents' eyes, and may he grow up to be a pious Muslim, ameen.

No episiotomy, she's going to be pleasantly surprised how fast she'll heal! She'll be walking about and literally plonking herself down with no worries at all!

Mabrook, shida :D

Re: Fabulous Mom sale!

November 12, 2009 by raylis

updated:

Dear All,

We have received many emails for the past 2 days asking if we could do our sale online too.  By very popular demand, here is the good news, especially for our outstation moms and moms who could not make it.  THE SALE IS NOW ONLINE!

YAY!

Some terms and conditions apply though:

1) We can't do 'storewide' discount as per our outlets.  Sorry, we had tried our very best.

2) Sale is final and should the item you order is sold out/will not be back in stock again, no refund will be entertained.  We will keep the fund as store credit for you to purchase other items instead.  Store credit is transferable to your friend upon your written request.

3) Our Puchong office is closed on Monday.  So we will start processing your online orders on Tuesday only.  Our TTDI outlet is open as usual, 7 days a week! :-)

4) Due to our limited/lacking of manpower, we could not entertain telephone calls checking on stock availability within these 4 days, we seek for your co-operation on this matter.  Further more, we rely on the telephone line to process credit card payment, so our telephone line cannot be occupied for too long during these crowded 4 days.

5) Last but not least, happy shopping and thank you very much for your support!

Log on to www.fabulousmom.com today!

With warmest regards,
Vivian and team

Re: Babywearing and Travelling photos

November 6, 2009 by raylis

This was in HK. Didn't really BW that much except for walking down the streets, getting on trams, etc. AND those times when there were just too many people to let a 2yo walk!
I love HK and its wonderful public transport! :D Wonderful place to travel if you have a son who loves transport ha ha

Re: Cloth Diapering

ray, pureen sales at pj (near the vitagen).. i bought the HAD liquid.. rm10..

-aziiemy

thanks aziiemy :) i'm definitely going, inshaa Allaah!

One U runs out pretty often. I only found (and bought) the liquid one although I prefer the powdered form. ABD is very available everywhere! Even in Guardian pharmacy.

I love BG :D Then again, I only have a few types, so Elly is more of a sifu than me. I'm an ikan bilis in the world of CD, coz I use lampin and also EC :)
Lunatots... may just try it out.
I don't know if Bumwear has done anything about their snaps, if they have, yay! If not, it's not very good for babies who are active, what more toddlers as the snaps come off often, so annoying!
BG BG BG and Bumcheeks.. i only have those ha ha. And LOTS of lampins :p

Re: Cloth Diapering

November 5, 2009 by raylis

@ happi: is the kiddiewash ok? akin to HAD? ooooh... when's the sale, where?

@tinytapir: thanks! have done that :) the velcro on the grobaby system's really nice though!

Re: Cloth Diapering

November 5, 2009 by raylis

I love lunatots (locallymade)... not that expensive.... and very plush.. i even prefer them over the other oversea brands that I own...
i think most of us here use pureen HAD... use veryyyyy veryy little... i think shida mentions she use a kfc size spoonful only .....

-ellywirda

elly, really? good for chunky thighs? :p
also, the snaps one better, or velcro is ok too?

i'm still not feeling the GroBaby love. :/ my daughter is only 1+ months and in just 20 minutes she's all wet. Already washed 5 times.. wonder what's wrong?

hmm.. Jusco is always out of stock when it comes to HAD.. any idea where else to get, anyone?

@ito: wah lau (sorry jadi singaporean chinese jap..) so crazy cold!!! amazing!! look at how wrapped up luqman was... fooh...
i was in scotland during winter (and -20degC was how low it got sometimes) and that was bbbrrrr... i had the chance of experiencing spring etc, not winter all year round bbrrr... i did BW the little girl I was looking after, in a MT (I think, until now i have no idea what carrier it was....) and also one of those structured hiking types..

@shida: ha ha.. tu la.. and it's nearby.. but actually, it's not that near come to think of it.. 2.5 hours drive is not near ha ha :p DH kalau nak pi anywhere, must be during winter..!

Re: Babywearing and Travelling photos

November 3, 2009 by raylis

ooooh, wish i can go travelling too...!
DH loves cold places, so BW is a breeze. The last holiday was in HK, and it was great! cold weather + BW, on and off MTRs, trams, ferries, buses... so fun!!

Ito, OT - Russia, must've been cold gila!! What an experience.. studies ke

adriana - wow.. so fun. going to UK again, eh then again it was one year ago that you went.. how time flies! wish I had someone there too to tumpang tinggal..!

Re: swaddling, babywearing

November 3, 2009 by raylis

hanim, thanks for sharing this.
during confinement, i had ppl coming by and REALLY straightening my daughter's legs when swaddling (like mummy!). happened a couple of times. this is my experience, but it's usually among the malay community. I don't remember any of my relatives doing that to my daughter though, maybe it's just my family!
also had remarks about baby's legs being froggy style, etc etc.. la la la.. when BW.

there's also a mention of this in The Baby Book by Dr Sears.

OT a bit, is it true that babies who walk when they aren't ready to (i dunno what this means la.. been have told) end up having bow legs?
