Re: Cloth Diapering

After my research and useful advice here, I bought 3 new CD - 1 BG, 1IB and 1 bamboo-unbranded but on sale (only RM30). Just did the prewash - I did it twice. Did find the bamboo soaker very hard to dry - hang out almost 3 days! (That's also because of the rainy season). But liked the BG - pocket dries very fast and the large insert 1 full day. My IB arriving today (whee!).

Going to try them out this weekend.....so excited.grin

mamahannah - thanks for clarifying. Is pureen HAD powder/liquid? i haven't actually seen one xcept the ABD one, maybe not on the lookout. BTW, what's IB? Sorry-lah not too familiar with the CD lingo, just learning. What's your favorite CD and why?

Thanks y'all.
Yea, I'd like to know what's the difference in Pureen ABD and HAD? Wah, use Fab also can?
I may have been mistaken (after reading so much), can we like reuse the pocket diaper and just change insert when it's wet? Or do you change the whole thing? Usually, how long does it take before you change? My DD is not a heavy wetter during the day.

Hi All,
I'm at this stage of considering cloth diapering. I'm a believer in natural parenting - yeah, breast feeding, baby wearing...now to add CD.
My girl ( 9 months) has been or is being CD-ed, the old fashion way, lampin. She's using lampin for most parts of the day, when she's at my mother's or MIL. But at home, I use disposable - mainly because I'm really not 'ngam' with lampin. I don't like it wet and it's difficult to dry them (too big for my tiny balcony) and fold them!
I've just discovered that lampin is not all to CD. The new ones look really great and I think might just work for me. I've been 'educating' myself and got some questions before I go out to purchase them. Hope some experienced mummies can help me out:

  • I think OS Pocket Diapers may work for me - what brand do you suggest I start with? I'm considering comfort and value for $$.
  • Most sites teach you how to wash, but I don't find it specific enough. Can I use NappiKleen? What detergent should I use?
Any one organising any CD meeting in Penang soon?

Warmest regards and thanks,
mayloongt
