Aqil has been asking to be worn ("Sling!Sling!") lately, but I wear Afraz almost 24/7...so I might just have to tandem babywear myself....but I dunno if I larat!
Share your tandem babywearing photos! I know there's at least one other picture...its even award-winning ;)

To me, CP is not even that expensive for an initial investment (compared to CDs), and they will last till they rot (as compared to CDs, which you only use till all your kids are potty-trained, then can sell while its still in petty good condition), so there's not a need for selling it. BUT there are plenty of people who buy and sell pre-loved CPs...same like CDs, it all depends on whether you are OK with it or not la kan ;)
I've never leaked through my CPs, even those without a waterproof layer. I just change around 4 times a day, or whenever I feel like changing. I definitely changed more often with dispos because I've leaked through them before.

If there are enough newbies, sure I will do a short intro on the types of carriers :) I know a few of my preggo friends are also coming, so I'm sure they'd like something like that. If we do end up doing that, we can also fit in back carries if we have time (shouldn't take too long if there are enough ppl to demo one carry per carrier).
I think every weekend in Dec is a long one, kan? Hehe...Hopefully not everyone will choose to balik kampung that weekend! I can't confirm the date till at least this Saturday's class...and then after that I will be on vacation. SO I might have to log in and update and create an event page, etc etc, while I'm on vacay ;D
Keep on coming up with topics! Its all subject to how many newbies VS veterans in attendance on the day itself. Looking forward to seeing our dear President there!
KL Babywearing Gathering - DEC 2009
November 18, 2009 by adriana85
Hey all,
I'm going to host another Malaysian Babywearers meetup at my house. The tentative details are below:
DATE: 19 OR 20th December, 2009
TIME: 2PM - 5PM
LOCATION: My house in Bukit Jelutong (Map will be sent out via e-mail later/posted on the Facebook event)
TOPIC(S): Back Carries, Breastfeeding while Babywearing...(open to suggestions)
I need some help from you all:
1. Please vote on whether Saturday the 19th or Sunday the 20th will work better for you. If I have class on Saturday, it will have to be on Sunday, but if not, I would prefer a Saturday.
2. Please suggest a topic or two that you would like to hear about
3. If there are BWers out there who don't mind demo-ing back carries, nursing in a sling, or whatever the topic of discussion is, let me know. Its faster and easier to have a few people demonstrating stuff than for me to do it all myself ![]()
4. As usual, our gatherings include a pot-luck teatime "menu"...please let us know what you might be bringing!
I will be gone on vacation from Nov 21 - Dec 5, so don't be alarmed if I don't reply to this post or set up an FB event page :)

this has been a problem for me for so long...mmg susah nak cari yg cantik, and design semua sama aja. i've tried sending to tailor but tak cantik sgt fit dia, and its so hard to explain the technical side of it (nursing llayer, slits/holes, etc). sebenarnya sudah lama menyimpan niat to make nursing wear, tapi cannoty find time la :/

Yeah, it depends on where you are...when I was in US, they never touched my son...over here, my sons get kissed, touched on the face, etc etc. Its worse in a stroller, of course, but even if you wear them in a sling, it doesn't stop them. This was discussed at the BW talk at IBU house recently...all the expat mamas were not pleased about how many ppl were coming up and touching their babies! Lagi pula anak diorang tembam2, mata biru...mana la org kita tak geram, kan?? It all comes down to culture, really.

yr rs are really tempting..
i miss to wear my boy.he already 1 yr 4 mo and i really miss to wear him bcoz he is really lasak, once i let him go at shopping mall or out of the car, he will simply run..but my backache worsen up to the point i hv to lie down 4 almost 3 days n have to perform my solat while sitting on a chair. i cant bend...so hv to rest up all my slings...sob sob...n yet jumpsac is coming out wth more n more tempting rs n ssc..huaaaaa..

no need to put your slings to rest...just make more babies to wear in them!

It wasn't that uncomfortable, like Elly said. I think the adrenaline rush you get from being on vacation, makes you stronger. I can't wait to go there again in a few weeks. This time I'm wearing Afraz, while Aqil sits in a stroller (we'll probably bring our double stroller - toddler on one side, shopping bags on the other. Hahaha!)

Re: Breastfeeding in wrap
November 1, 2009 by adriana85
Shida,
If you only have woven wrap and you are already good at using it, you can go ahead and use that from birth onwards to BF your new baby. Obviously, a stretchy wrap is "easier", for beginners especially, but you don't "need" to buy one. I BF'd Afraz in both stretchy and woven, there's not much difference. FYI, I think that MTs and RS are easier to adjust than wraps when it comes to BFing while BWing.
