normally, when i see ppl on their bikes holding a baby with their bare hands, especially on highways. I always wished that atleast they have a carrier to support the baby. I understand that some people just have too, not that they have other options but to carry their baby on bikes..
but it is just not safe for the baby..incase there's a sudden break, or a big truck/bas pass by. who know what will happen right? recently i saw (twice) a father, who placed his toddler in the basket infront of his motorcycle. she was standing, and her hands are up as if she's flying (like Titanic punya posing).. i was like.. what the ..** ??? how can he let the child stand in the basket while the bike is moving .. and he was quite fast too.. erghh..this is on the real road tau middle of KL, not jalan kampung (still not an excuse for me).. (sorry, emo)

I pun kdg2 suke gak naik scooter round the housing area.
Masa Ari cannot stand properly.. I pakai RS tummy2tummy.and wrap the tail around the rings.. takut sangkut kat celah2 tayar.
of course not me lah yg bawak the moto.. :P i dok kat belakang je..
Ari sure tido punyelahhh muke kene angin sedap2 tu.. :P

But now.. he's already a big boy.. sudah eksyenn.. mau stand/duduk in the bakul kat depan.
Of course tak bawak laju2 lah.. selow2 saja

my family's (and the in-laws too) stand with motorcycles is an absolute no

maybe because I've seen too many bodies from motor vehicle accidents involving motorcyclists when I worked in the morgue that time. kids.. very very small kids.. and adults..
so..
anyways.. like farid.. I totally understand that some families just have to. It's the only mean of transportation to them.. and they have to you know..
so..
anyways.. that's my personal opinion and my personal take lah.. hehe

I think, better wearing something rather than not to wear anything. At least DS safe secure with me. But just to make sure which BW that suits in this condition. ssc..maybe?  

Syaz, Solehin turned his face out because that 'angin sedap2' tu la! Then, same like u, that little boy fell a sleep so easy.

Yup Liza n Farid, at least i can suggest my neighbor to use BW during their ride to pasar malam. For sure, they will not use a car (if they have) cuz the place is not so far from our resident, but still need vehicle to go there. Me also sometimes anak beranak naik motor ke pasar malam. But usually i wore RS. Easy in and out.

If having your baby riding on the motorcycle with you is unavoidable, all I can say here is that you try to be as careful and safe as possible.

In such a situation, wearing your baby or not both comes with pros and cons.

Babywearing while riding a motorcycle, bicycle or even boating can be as dangerous as not wearing the baby in such situations. Imagine if the babywearer slipped and fell... the baby will be part of that. Even worse, the baby could be in the position to cushion the fall.

So, do consider the above risks and do take precautions if your baby is to go on a trip with you on a motorcycle.

its the first and last attempt.

why the first attempt?-coz i wanna go to pasar malam but just sooo dangerous to acrross the road... u know la, cars didint bother to slow even stop to bagi laluan to pejalan kaki to accross the road. its my hubby yg drove the motorcycle, not me!

why the last attempt?-coz i feel scared if any car, lorry knock us out and i fell with anis. so from that on, my hubby je yg pergi pasar malam. hehehehe.

honestly, i rasa lebih selamat babywear our baby gini bila naik motor daripada pegang bodo jek.
memang la tak selamat tapi for those yang tak mampu beli kereta n ade motor
depa tade choice, bawa baby masa naik motor
i sendiri gerun bila tengok mommies pegang bodo jek baby bila naik bodo

klu pakai SSC@MT ni tade la dok terbayang ibu terlepas tangan ke apa.

im not promoting and im not againts it totally.

depends on people prefernces. if i jenis kurang berkemampuan, mmg fully on motor as main transportation, sure i would opt for babywearing. tambah pulak tgh panas atau hujan, our hands are free to cover baby head with something.

humm...agree..actually there's a pros and cons BW on bike. And bikers never feel safe on the road exactly!

Shida gives me an idea to wear MT next time. MT/ssc buckle looks way secured than RS i think. But no chance la Solehin nak pandang2 depan.

Of course laa yang bawaknye my husband not me. Dah 5 tahun tak press minyak! I jadi 'mama cun' je kat blakang.

Yes most of us may have the choice tapi yang tak de tu, I also agree dari pegang `bodo' aje (as you all put it, ha ha) baik la berikat. Worse, siap bagi berdiri tu....

But, what I detest more are those driving a car, letting LO standing on the passenger seat! Rule to buckle up ni for adults aje ke? %&*@$% sorry all, I dah lama dok pendam geram each time seeing ppl letting their LO standing on the front seat. And driving with LO on the lap? I'm not talking about housing area tau, I've seen a lady kat Pantai Dalam/Kerinchi junction, came from Fed H'way, driving with a toddler on her lap, and she was eating some more. No brainer ka?

Sorry ek, divert sikit. Ada peluang ni, grab aje.....

Uuhh on her lap? Apa ingat air bag kaa?? Totlly not me!......DD selalu gaduh ngan babah-nye sebab nak duduk dlm baby car seat, tak kasi adiknyer duduk. But sometime dia buat perangai macam u mentioned laa.. tak mau duduk dalam seat, tak  mau duduk belakang, tapi merengek2 nak tengok all big cars kat depan sambil berdiri.. Masa tu i pun keluar tanduklaa kann (i yg kuar tanduk, babah-nye ala bertenang jer)... As a result, letak car seat kat depan, bagi sebotol air Ribena, bukak nursety rhyme....settle.. 

Baby on the lap mmg I selalu tengok but normally kat housing area, but kat highway ni yg I terpegun sejenak. terrorist!

what if naik basikal?

naik basikal sure most of us find it safer than motorcycle right?

just becareful and be extra cautious of the environment. safety always comes first.

jiran flat i Indonesian, kadang2 naik basikal gendong anaknya guna indon style.
Selamba dek jerr melintas jalan sambil mengayuh basikal. Anak dia pun baik je dalam gendong tu...tembam pulak tu.

Memang agak kagum, sebab i tak berani nak buat camtu walaupun i kemaruk menggendong.Dalam situasi dia, i faham basikal adalah alternatif yang hanya dia ada. Jalan kaki jauh giler..
