Since BW is still not so common here, I thought it will be fun to list down if we see any fellow BWers around and what type of sling they were using.

Saw someone (Malay) using a ring sling at Bangsar pasar ramadhan today. It was a heavily padded RS (can't tell the brand) looks very hot for our weather and looks like she didn't know how to use it as it looks very loose and she still had to support baby with one hand in hip carry.

hehehe i was just going to start this thread... kinda like the "I spy a babywearer... missed connection" thread on TBW...

coz yesterday... i saw a malay couple with their baby...at setia alam tesco... still wearing office attires... and the husband was wearing a pouch and the baby....... theres some tali-tali at the bottom of the pouch (lacing like sneakers.. not lace renda)...

its endearing to watch modern couples babywearing.... its like a walking advertisement that babywearing is not kuno and kampung!! (thats the general perception).. and theres nothing wrong with husbands wearing babies... i can feel that my DH felt better not being alone in wearing babies... i wanted to approach and give them the link to this website.... coz they might want to go to meets and try out other carriers.. but i chickened out hehehehe

I once saw some one in my neighborhood, feeding her baby by our pool side, wearing her baby. I dont recognize it, but its hip carry, seems the baby is sitting comfortably, but the sling has buckle, mcm tali beg sekolah.. it looks like tonga with sling, but its not hammock. ok, after this, if I ever saw that lady again, i'll go and say hi to her.. hikhik

I think baby wearing is not kuno and kampung anymore. They are pricey.. now it became an exclusive baby gadjet!

Past one month;

1. A women using kain batik lepas.

2. A man, with a baby.. using a towel (stripey cheap2 ones) tying at opposite edges.

(both individual I think from Sabah/Sarawak- nice accent)

3. A lady in Isetan using SSC. But the child was running around. Must google Japanese carriers.

Talk about a feast for the eyes! This is the best I've sighted so far (from my last visit back to KL)

Yes! I've got their permission for the photo :)

I think they are Vietnamese. Spoke in a language I don't understand.

I saw this at Mahkota Parade Melaka! Can you spot where the baby and the wearer are?

I've personally seen many (actually, many2 more compared to when I first started using the RS about 2 years ago) babywearers and get excited when I do :p

Seen many pouches, RS .. and a few SSC (ergo and patapum for example). Batik lepas is everywhere.

So far, now that I've got 'enough courage' to approach someone, whenever I see someone not wearing it right, I'd approach the person and inform her in a very nice manner.. :p Then point them to www.malaysianbabywearers.org!

Yaaaa the baby worn in purple!!! But i think it was a wrap rather than a pouch cos i noticed the purple material looked like it was wrapped all over the body. Couldnt really take a closer look though cos i was in our car and we were just leaving the place (hence the blurry pic hehe).
