my breastfeeding style on the go is much like this. since anis want to sleep while bf, i will make sure her position is like cradle hold postion. if anis just want to play play while bf, hip carry will do fine.

When i was exclusively bf my baby, i will make sure i wear shirt with front button, because its so much easier to bf yr baby right away.

to bf on the go (bf in sling), it would be great if wear nursing cloth. i wear this nursing cloth (brand milkyway). the nursing opening is easy to aacess and got another layer for privacy bf. hope it helps. available in malaysia at certain estore if u r interested. by the way, im in a process of making my own nursing cloth specially made and design for muslim women. will update soon.

with godd attitude and proper cloth, people wont noticed that i bf my baby. they just see that my baby is sleeping in the sling. bonus to us as muslim women we can use those hojab to cover. i just cover a bit on my baby mouth as she latch on so it will not obvious she is bf. i dun cover all over her head coz she will feel hot and not comfy. thats why nursing cover isnt working for me n anis. have to find good nursing cloth in order to bf discreetly.

Please let us know if you do produce nursing clothes, especially Muslimah wear! I tak bertudung lagi, so for now I use a lot of stretchy V-neck tops or a tank top underneath a shirt. But when I do wear the hijab I worry about what I should wear for nursing.

Salaam shida,
That's good to know!
Please also take into consideration, the length of the baju, have to at least cover the bottom.. Also long sleeve, as awrah for women is everything but the face and hands.. I notice that many BF clothes for muslimah has 3/4 sleeve which is not helpful at all..
Also have to be loose, so as not to show the body shape.
Let us know once they're ready!!
Mana tau, inshaa Allaah dapat 2nd one :)

shida,

it is great if you could make muslimah nursing clothes as it is very few in market.

i just bought mine and altogether i have 7 pieces of nursing clothes.

have always been dreaming to make my own, somehow i dunno how to sew.

even if i design, i dunno if the tailor would understand what i want.

and es, u should consider the length and it should be a bit loose, as rayhana stated.

so far i failed to nurse when my baby is in the pouch which is such an inconvenience for me.

i have to pop her out whenever she needs to bf.

my pouch is S in size which snuggly fit but not able to nurse.

tried size M pouch and i can but it is a bit loose lah.

always feel like my baby gonna slip out from the pouch.

another effort to nurse her successfully was when she was in the kain batik lepas sling - but definitely not going out carrying her in that DIY sling yet.

i can't tie it properly yet.

I also can't bf in a pouch as its too snug. Although there a photos on how that is possible. Maybe with one that is 2 sizes bigger! Now I just tell my customers that it is possible but not easy....

yup... i managed to BF in my pouch. we did it anywhere from window shopping to a short clinic visits. but can only BF in cradle position. Now hip carry still possible but at home only.. kalau buat kat public susah sikit sebab my baby hates being covered.

Hi Shada,

Wanna share with us how you do it? Is the pouch bigger than snug fitting?

Though I know and understand how one can BF in a pouch, I am really not up for it as I still feel it is a bit awkward. Perhaps, my little one was a bit too old for me to try out BF in the pouch when I first started wearing him (about 9 months then)?
